THE IMPORTANCE OF CREDENTIALING

Setting the standard to reduce the burden of chronic wounds

433,000people

are suffering from chronic wounds at any time across Australia

70%

of chronic leg ulcers will recur in some patients for 15 years or more

$3billion

                                     is the conservative
annual cost of wounds to the Australian Health Care System .

The Wound Management Innovation CRC, together with Industry Partners have developed a specialised platform dedicated to streamlining the credentialing process.

Setting the Benchmark

Setting the Benchmark

Through credentialing, clinicians gain recognition for their knowledge, skill, and also their commitment to maintaining high professional standards. By measuring standards in education, workplace experience and continued professional development, we’re developing a national benchmark for Wound Experts.

Consumer Confidence

For the half a million Australians suffering from a chronic wound, Credentialing provides patient and organisational reassurance that a health professional has received the training and skill level reflective of wound expertise.

Consumer Confidence

Professional Development

Inspired pursuit of continued professional development

Credentialing sets the benchmark for Clinicians to aspire to and the pathway where they can achieve it. It provides a continual focus on refining standards, the recognition of achievement, and building a community of leaders in Wound Management.

For some patients, finding a Clinician with wound specialty training and experience can prove as difficult as treating the wound itself.  Through credentialing, our aim is to build awareness by creating a centralised national register of Wound Experts.
